30 Day Naked Face Challenge

I've struggled with breakouts my entire life. So, when I became an adult, it just turned into adult acne, and honestly just got worse with age. My breakouts included cystic pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and whatever else the pimple devil wished upon me. I wasn't a stranger to any of it. It's embarrassing, and I was always so frustrated that I never had the ease of waking up and skipping makeup that day. I was under a constant need to hide my breakouts. My confidence levels were at an all-time low, and I was just so frustrated. So, my frustration brought on the idea to just power through a month without makeup. I was freaked out, and super nervous about the first week because I knew my skin was looking especially rough. But, I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did!

Halfway through the first week, I decided to switch up my products because the Proactiv just seemed to make matters worse. My ultimate end goal was to use natural products and stay away from harsh chemicals. I found a 3 step regimen by Burt's Bees called "Acne Solutions" - It came with a face wash, moisturizer, and a spot treatment. I used this process morning and night, and definitely saw nice results fairly quickly.

However; the moisturizer is very oily/greasy and I have super oily skin. Ultimately I think I was producing more oil induced breakouts, so I wanted to find a different product to experiment with.

After I switched products from the Burt's Bees regimen, I fell in love. I began using the Yes To Tomatoes Charcoal Face Scrub. You guys, I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I can't say enough good things about it. I can confidently say my skin really cleaned up once I was using this cleanser. It smells great, gives a great lather, and leaves you feeling so clean.

I wasn't using a moisturizer with this one, as it felt like it kept my skin hydrated without drying me out.

The last week of my challenge, my sister put together an essential oil foaming cleanser for me to try as well. I used this cleanser by itself and fell in love with it also. It cleared up remaining blemishes and cleaned up my face surprisignly well.

The ingredients in this cleanser were: Frankincense Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil. and Baby Dr. Bronners soap, Water.

This cleanser smells amazing, and I love how natural it is.

Overall, I'm so so proud of myself for sticking with this challenge the entire 30 days. It wasn't super easy for me, and I really missed putting on my makeup every day, but I feel so motivated and excited to keep my skin looking fresh, and taking more frequent breaks from makeup. It's so good for your self-esteem as well as your skin. I am going to continue using my Yes To Tomatoes wash as well as my essential oil cleanser. If you have a product you swear by, leave it in the comments :)
